This course introduces students to the artistry and precision of building a classical (nylon-string) guitar using traditional Spanish heel construction, an East Indian rosewood body, and a customized spruce soundboard

In this immersive, hands-on woodworking intensive, students explore the craft of lutherie while working in a professional woodshop. Participants gain experience with hand and machine tools, precise layout and measurement, fine joinery, wood bending and shaping, and finishing techniques specific to instrument making

Students will build their own classical guitar using a professionally prepared guitar kit and leave with foundational lutherie skills and a deeper understanding of how guitars are designed, constructed, and finished

This small-cohort experience features instructor coaching, live demonstrations, and open shop time to support project completion

No degree admission is required. The course moves at a focused pace. Prior woodworking experience is recommended but not required, and students should expect some work outside scheduled instruction

Coffee lite breakfast and lunch catering and the guitar construction kit are included in the course fee
